The Journey is almost over by Lisa
The Rockstars have made it up and down the mountain – survived the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. (Mike described the take-off as like being in a bus going off the end of an aircraft carrier.) Now resting in Kathmandu for a few days. Tonight they are going to a bar called Rum Doodle – climbers have been celebrating their achievements there for 70 years. Home via Singapore for a rest, hot showers real toilets and much needed shaves (Thank goodness, I want my clean shaven Mike back not Grizzly Adams!) Brisbane on Saturday. It has been a long trip not only for The Rockstars but also for the families. I know the boys and I are missing Mike and can’t wait to have him home. I would like to thank everyone for all of their supportive comments. To our Lang family members thanks for your support. To The Rockstars wives – it has been a pleasure. A very special thanks to Bert, you are a wonderful friend and have been a great support to Mike in training for this adventure. We value your friendship, love & support of our family. A very special thanks also to Ma & Pa Wert (Garry’s parents) I have loved your positive upbeat comments and I hope you know how much your family means to us 🙂 Thanks everyone Lis
Hi Guys, All well done again, Safe trip home, relax and enjoy your homeward bound. Love to all at home . Only 4 sleeps to go. HOME WARD BOUND.
Totally second what my bro has said… I’ve loved reading and following this epic journey…the photos too! Great that you are all safely down,.. enjoy the break in Singapore (don’t forget the Singapore Sling). Life will never be the same again. Good on you! Aunty K. xxx
Thanks Lisa for the update – glad to hear they have arrived safely back in civiisation and now can enjoy some creature comforts – I can imagine the effort it will take to shave. I hope they enjoy and savour their first drink. it has been an absolute pleasure to follow this journey and I thank Mike and his team for doing it for us all… they did the hard yards and we got to feel each and every step along the way with their descriptive narrative and wonderful photos. Thanks to you all. Jan 🙂

Come on now, surely as a loving wife you would be excited to share that little piece of ruggedness of your man as he brings it home and you recieve that loving hug and passionate kiss from BEARDY BOY. Where’s the love.
Thanks for the updates and we’ll all be glad to see them home safe and sound.
I for one can’t wait to get those adventure’s in a room together to hear the tales first hand.
Well done to all.
Thanks Bertie. The love is definitely there but I also know that I will have no Beardy Boy as Mike can’t handle not shaving for a day let alone almost 3 weeks! He is looking forward to having the full on cut throat shave in Singapore. He wanted to have one last time we were there but didn’t have enough fuzz – I don’t think it will be an issue now 🙂
Welcome home Mike and boys awesome job so enjoyed following your adventure. Roz eddy
