Blog. Submitted Kala Patthar topping out at 5670m! We donated Ernie, as in Sesame Street, to the mountain gods and gave him a cigar and scotch to keep him warm (well, kept us warm anyways!) we had blue skies on way up but in about 20 minutes the whole sky was covered in snow clouds so no good shots of Everest. Came down after sunset making it a very dark descent with head torches required. Woke up his morning to ground covered in snow for our walk to Everest base camp this morning and our summit attempt of same…! Will keep you posted.
