March 7th Hi Babe – this is for the blog. We had a very hard day as we have just arrived at camp after climbing the biggest mountain I have ever been on, we are camping at a height of 4500 mtrs the highest we have been yet, we are surrounded by 4 x 8000 mtr peaks and many others just under that height. The climb today was very satisfying as it was by far the hardest thing we have done and I got through it with room left in the tank….all the training is paying off big time and its allowing us to enjoy our surroundings without doubling over in exhaustion however we realize that its only day 5 and have a lot more climbing and miles to go before EBC. Its going to be very cold tonight as we are on top of the Ama Dablam ridge line and very exposed so the temp could get as low as -10 to -15…oh boy. Everyone is handling the altitude pretty well so far with just a few headaches to report. So alls looking positive for a successful attempt at Ama Dablam Base Camp tomorrow which is at 4800 mtrs. I’m feeling pretty good even though I have not shaved (thanks to the boys who have stolen my razor) or had a shower for 5 days now…. Lis please give big hugs and kisses to the boys and tell them I read their letters every night to help motivate me. Miss you all. Mike
