Departure Day Has Arrived At Last!

D-Day we thought it would never come…..

Well it’s certainly been a journey so far and we haven’t even hit the track yet, but to get to where we are now we needed help and support. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the Rockstars for their commitment to training and for all the hard work everyone has put into this adventure…..you guys rock! To the Families of the Team thanks so much for giving us all the freedom to train so much and for tolerating the constant talk about Everest and the track ,im sure you’ll be glad to see the back of us all so you don’t have to hear about it for a while, thanks so much for giving us all this great gift of time to achieve our goals. To everyone who has trained with us and supported in their own way and for those of you who have commented on our blog thanks so much, I want you to know that every time we have a positive comment or any encouragement from you it would keep us motivated and we would constantly talk about this while out trekking ….thanks to you all and never underestimate the power of a positive comment as sometimes it was all we needed to get us off our butts and try that little bit harder. To my Mum & Dad a special thanks to you for understanding right from the start why I wanted to do this and for supporting the idea and encouraging me to jump right in and do it….I love you both very much. To Lisa my beautiful wife, Mitch & Bay I will never be able to repay this gift guys thanks for all the support and love you have shown and for putting up with me for this last year as I know I have been a bit obsessed with the end goal and at times training seemed to come first, thanks for your patience and tolerance it is something I will never foget, I hope that someday in the future that this little adventure is insperation to my 2 boys Mitch & Bay and they take from this that if you put your mind to it you can achive anything you desire, like it says on our team shirts “It’s not the mountain we conquer but ourselves”…..love you always x.

I have actually recorded a short video so say all of the above in a more personal way however it is taking so long to load to the site that it wont be ready till after we go so ill post it as soon as I can for you all. I will try my very best to keep you all updated on our trip as it unfolds by sending mesages and photo’s but this will depend on coverage on the mountain but im sure every few days this will be possible…..See you all soon Cheers Mike
